Building monitoring
Building monitoring gives owners and engineering teams a measured record of structural movement and performance. Starmass combines field observations, structural sensors and digital reporting for existing buildings, tall buildings and structures affected by construction or changes in use.
Follow changes from the site baseline to building operation.
The monitoring objective may be settlement during excavation, vibration during adjacent works, or structural response during occupation. Each requires an appropriate baseline, instrument layout and interpretation process. Starmass integrates displacement, tilt, strain and vibration evidence with inspection and environmental information, helping the project team see when a change needs further investigation and preserve a consistent building performance record.
Movement and settlement
Track changes in level, alignment and inclination at agreed locations. Baseline geometry and repeated readings support review of settlement, excavation effects and movement during construction or refurbishment.
Vibration and response
Measure vibration or structural response in relation to machinery, nearby works and operating loads. Acquisition settings and review criteria are selected around the behavior being investigated.
Owner reporting
Organize sensor readings, observations and inspection records into usable reports and dashboards. Define who receives alerts, how measurements are checked and what information accompanies engineering review.
Applications
- High-rise buildings and towers with ongoing structural monitoring objectives.
- Existing buildings beside excavations, piling or transport construction.
- Building refurbishment and change-of-use projects requiring a record of condition and response.
